A peek into the future

Bonfire visits the world’s leading home appliances trade show in Berlin.

Our creative director Stephen Sellick and Bosch account manager Danielle Henley recently took a trip to Berlin to visit the IFA trade fair to connect with our Bosch clients and be inspired by the very latest products and innovations in the home appliances market.

The pair were keen to see how Bosch showcases its products at the world’s leading trade show, taking guidance and ideas from the company’s stand designs, for current campaigns, and to learn more about how Bosch is developing its products for future briefs.

The overriding theme permeating the Bosch presentation and the entire show, was the connected household, with all of the world’s leading consumer electronics and home appliances manufacturers showcasing smart products and technologies, providing a glimpse of tomorrow’s connected world.

Bosch are looking at connectivity holistically, at how they work with related organisations such as grocers and energy companies to make appliance connectivity seamless. For example when the fridge identifies that certain food items are running low, what processes and logistics are required to communicate to the online grocer and trigger home delivery.

“From intelligent home automation, including lighting, room temperature, and heating, to smart appliances, wireless transmission technologies, and integrated robots such as vacuum cleaners and lawnmowers, we’ve seen how new digital technologies are creating a highly customizable lifestyle at the touch of a button,” said Stephen Sellick.

Danielle Henley, account manager, added: “Perhaps more importantly, though, we’ve seen how these technologies are going affect the way in which brands communicate and sell to customers, and how we as marketers can prepare for and capitalise on the opportunity.”
