North America is a primary destination for Charles Wells but when US and Canadian citizens search for the brewery’s products online they have always been directed to the company’s UK web page, with any enquiries passed manually to the customer service team to handle.
We were briefed to create and build a bespoke website for the North American audience, to help build brand awareness, provide customers with information on the available products and ultimately drive sales. The client wanted a bold, light-hearted and responsive site full of rich and useful content to inform and educate customers.
The finished site includes large product imagery and hand drawn doodles to give it a friendly and inviting feel. We’ve used team members and behind the scenes imagery to add personality and featured historic images from the Charles Wells archive to tell the story of the brewer’s 140 year history and bring the individual beer brands to life.
The user can find detailed brewing and tasting notes on each available beer and explore recipes in which to use them, while interactive maps of the US and Canada allow users to search for their nearest stockist. Links to the brands’ Facebook pages allow users to discover even more information about their favourite beers and join the fan communities.
