Re-balancing an iconic educational emblem
Following a successful pitch for the recruitment campaign and prospectus design, the University of Bedfordshire appointed Bonfire to undertake a brand review.
The task embraced some of the visual styling from our “It’s all about you” campaign, and then reviewing and updating the main brand identity and guidelines.
The outcome was a refreshed brand identity, guidelines and toolkit, including a cleaner rebalanced logo, tighter brand/sub-brand architecture, refined messaging, updated primary / secondary and faculty colour pallets, new fonts, more rules around graphical elements and the addition of web and accessibility sections to help drive more consistency in the application and implementation of the brand.
This project ran alongside the updated creative for the following years campaign and production of the Undergraduate, Postgraduate, STEM and International Prospectuses.
Feedback from the first campaign discovery workshop and presentation says it all: “Thank you for the presentation today, I can see a lot of work has gone in to the concepts. I’m really surprised by what you have delivered back to us, as over the years I’ve sat through a lot of these and never been wowed all that much, today I was. I felt you had listened to us and therefore delivered something meaningful that you’d really thought about. My points may have been on the critical side, but I think that is because there is so much potential in the work you have done, and I am really looking forward to seeing how they develop for our other channels as we move forward.”
RESULTS
- Feedback post-launch of the original “It’s all about YOU” campaign was an overwhelming 88.2% positive
- Increased positivity of 88.6% around the “It’s all about you” message itself
- Campaign direction led to a wider brand identity and guidelines review
