Font-tastic! Bonfire’s secret weapon on potatoes

NEWS TYPORGAPHY Spud

Bonfire has a secret weapon in its creative arsenal. Andrew Foster is not only a legend at illustration, but he’s also locked and loaded to deliver incredible fonts for whatever brand he works on.

In his spare time he’s been beavering away cutting out letters, numbers and punctuation marks from potatoes for his ‘Spud AF’ font, which has been used in children’s books, Cartoon Network’s CN Too channel and featured in the Design Museum book ‘How to Design a Typeface’.

Andrew has also created a font inspired by his own handwriting called ‘Scribbles AF’, which has been used in many magazines and, more excitingly, Lindt’s “Hello my name is…” chocolate range.

You could say fonts are part of Andrew’s DNA and we’ve utilised these skills on a number of projects, not least the nationally recognised empty shop project WeAreBedford.
